Dental Assistant Program

Oral health is a window into your overall wellness. At PCI, you can get trained for a career in Dental Assisting in as little as nine months. Available at our Richardson, TX location, this program will equip you with the knowledge and skills you need to be prepared for a career as a:

Our Curriculum

Our hands-on Dental Assistant training combines lectures with hands-on exercises in dental operatories and laboratories.

Classroom Training

You’ll gain a solid base of knowledge from our instructors as you learn about anatomy and physiology, clinical procedures, patient treatment preparation, chairside assisting and radiology.

Lab Training

You’ll get the practical experience you’ll need on the job in our labs as you learn to perform basic dental procedures, how to use dental instruments and what you need to perform chairside assistance to a dentist.

Real-world Externship

To ensure you enter your career with experience, this program includes a 200-hour externship.

The Dental Assistant training program also prepares graduates for the Dental Assistant Examination to become a Registered Dental Assistant in the State of Texas.

Career Outlook

Employment of dental assistants is expected to grow at 11% from 2018 to 2028, which is much faster than the average for all occupations, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Ongoing research about the link between oral health and general health continues to increase the demand for preventative services, and thus the need for Dental Assistants.
